Patient-Centered Therapy Services Aimed at Community Re-Integration

Physical therapy is an integral part of the rehabilitation process after a fall-related injury or surgery. The goal of physical therapy is to regain and maximize functional independence and mobility. Our physical therapy programs are customized to each patient’s individual needs.

Each inpatient in our Short-Term Therapy program has a designated physical therapist on his or her interdisciplinary team who routinely meets with other team members to determine a customized therapy plan.

Inpatients can anticipate a daily physical therapy session with his or her physical therapist, proceeding at their own pace toward a level of function and confidence where re-integration into the community makes sense.

Our Physical Therapy staff is dedicated solely to rehabilitation of our patients, so you can expect direct, focused attention aimed at a successful outcome from the moment the therapy regimen starts. We offer a number of specialized services and therapy techniques as required by our patient base, including specially tailored programs that focus on locomotor training, manual therapy, strengthening, coordination and advanced procedures designed to help patients re-learn effective life skills.

About Our Drive for Excellence

Don Orione Home provides compassionate and effective care for its rehabilitation patients, long term care residents, and seniors in the community who participate in our highly-regarded Adult Day Health Center programs. We strive to provide best-in-class care and services, and it is this attention to five-star quality that sets us apart. Our goal each day is to achieve a customer satisfaction level of 99%—or higher. Under new leadership and direction through Advocate Healthcare Management since 2017, we are now focused on growth and success, for our rehab patients, our long term residents, and our Adult Day Health Center participants.

In Massachusetts, the stringent care, safety and oversight requirements for properly operating a skilled nursing facility are second only to those of nuclear power plants—and for good reason. We take our commitment to satisfying—or exceeding—those requirements seriously. Success is not easily achieved, but with the right staff and level of commitment, Don Orione Home—the only rehabilitaiton and long term care center in East Boston—is proving that it is one of the best facilities in the region.
