The Don Orione Home is a 190-bed, non-sectarian, rehabilitation center and voluntary nursing home which provides various levels of nursing care for persons in need, with an emphasis on geriatrics. Since 1949, the Don Orione Home has been consistently recognized as an integral part of the East Boston community and recognized for its quality of care. Under new management and ranked as deficiency free by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in 2016, we are committed to ensuring excellence in customer service while providing the best life experiences and clinical outcomes for all of the individuals entrusted to our care.
For over seven decades we've provided care to a diverse population of residents in the Greater Boston community, continuing to grow from the original Don Orione Home (which has its seeds in June 1949), through several iterations of expansion and growth in services to become the highly ranked it is today. The nursing and support staff‐and the new management team at the helm‐are proud of our deficiency-free classification.
We pioneered the area of Adult Day Health Care beginning in 1975 and are pleased this service has proven its value and is even more sought-after today than it was when it was first introduced. Our Adult Day Health Center's operation is based on a philosophy of providing an alternative to institutional care—or offering the community a way to delay or permanently forestall placement in a long term care facility.
Today, we continue to grow our capacity to provide quality care for those in need. More sophisticated medical interventions are now a part of the services we offer, in addition to Short Term Rehabilitative Care, Respite Care and Hospice Care. And, we remain cognizant of our responsibility to continuously envision and develop ground-breaking strategies for improving care to the community.
